Arab Friends of Champions 12.3 is a regional network linked to Champions 12.3. Champions 12.3 is a coalition of executives from governments, businesses, international organizations, research institutions, farmer groups, and civil society dedicated to inspiring ambition, mobilizing action, and accelerating progress toward achieving Sustainable Development Goal Target 12.3 by 2030. Members are senior executives of these institutions, including ministers, chief executive officers, and executive directors. These executives preside over institutions that have the ability to impact food loss and waste reduction at scale and that are dedicated to meeting Target 12.3.
The formation of the global network of Champions 12.3, was formally called upon during the United Nations General Assembly’s Sustainable Development Summit in September 2015
Our Mission
Arab Champions 12.3 Mission is to convene minds and shape solutions to tackle the critical issue of food loss and waste in the Arab region. This will be pursued through connecting organizations, practitioners, and innovators, and fostering relationships that drive impactful change. We believe in the power of collaboration to conquer the challenges of food loss and waste, and the network will actively facilitate the joining of forces to achieve the shared vision of Sustainable Development goal Target 12.3.
By empowering stakeholders with resources and support, we fuel progress towards effective reduction strategies, ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come.

Arab Friends of Champions 12.3, will be hosted by Thriving Solutions, a boutique social enterprise established by two Arab women dedicated to helping companies and cities implement nature-based solutions and adopt innovations that eliminate waste and pollution, regenerate ecosystems, transition to circular food systems and sequester carbon.
As the host of Arab Friends of Champions 12.3, Thriving Solutions will play a central role in coordinating and overseeing the platform’s operations, ensuring that the diverse interests of public, private, and civil society stakeholders are represented; raising funds to support the Champions platform and its various objectives, aligning activities with the overarching goals of the platform, monitoring progress, and facilitating cooperation among stakeholders.
